Youth of Promise, a faith-based nonprofit organization, was founded in 2018 in Fredericksburg, Virginia by Kymmollotkis Mason. It was Mason’s heart and passion to help the millions of high-risk youth in our community. She saw a need for a mentoring program in our area. The youth need trusted adults they can turn to in times of depression, hopelessness, fear, daily decision making and so on. Determined to make a difference, Mason convened a series of community meetings, attended by more than 10 community leaders, and concerned parents. Mason founded Youth of Promise as a nonprofit IRS 501 (c) (3) corporation. Since opening its doors, Youth of Promise has connected with and forged partnerships with the local business community, schools, parents, churches, and other youth organizations throughout the community.
Kymmollotkis Mason, Executive Director, and her staff of five continue to carry out the Youth of Promise’s vision and expand the scope of program services. Youth of Promise is determined and dedicated to reach the youth in our community and to have influence in their lives. Its mission is to empower and to improve the well-being of the youth. This program was created to provide role models that can support the youth socially, financially, academically, and personally.
